I just cancelled my hyatt card and then noticed that hyatt sent me email/mail for anniversary night. (Idk I thought it was like 6 months...)
So my q is what is exact criteria for anniversary night?
(I.e should I reactivate card? Cmiiw I believe I have 30 days)

it's prob in your Hyatt Gold passport account. login and see if your night is there -- imo, no need for a credit card: https://www.hyatt.com/hyatt/index.jsp?language=en&_requestid=147750

Sorry I was not clear. I haven't earned or at least received the anniversary night yet. Apparently it was just about 12 months (I will call chase and find out exactly) so they started sending me promo mail about anniversary night.

So I searched this thread and I think my Q was answered (thanks AJK) but I need some clarification: To book the 2 free sign up nights there has to be standard room availability. Does that mean availability for paid nights (which there usually is) or reward nights (which is hit or miss)?

Never mind, I think I found my answer...looks like it's the same, if there's standard room availability then it's available across the board (cash or points). But it only works with the hotel's lowest level standard room. Is that right? CMIIW

My gut tells me that rep got confused between the southwest 50,000 "2 flights" and the hyatt "2 nights" just my 2 cents

+1 Unless you plan on selling, the value of this card is most realized if you know you want to stay at a Hyatt within the year.

True, but not always can u afford an AOR at that time.

Accept it and then sell the anniversary night (http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=8769.2910) to recoup the AF (and potentially make a little). This way you can keep your Platinum status.
