According to Dan: The nights post within a week of spending, regardless of statement close.
They expire 12-13 months from posting and can typically be extended by 1 more month by emailing Hyatt.

Best offer out there for now: (Thanks DoGo!)
Go to Hyatt.com make a reservation, click book, and before cc page you will see offer for card with the 2 free nights PLUS $50 statement credit. Looks something like this

Anniversary nights appear in account before annual fee posts.

-1 you'll make $600 over 2 calendar years.
Well in that case you can count $995....

maybe, but the Ritz nights cost much more than most other hotel-chain nights....
You can use the points at marriott hotels also.

Apply in june/July, Get hit with the AF somewhere in July.
Do $300 now & $300 in January.
Then you cancel in January you get back the AF (still in 6 months window) you take out $600 and get back $395.

ritz points can be used at Marriot hotels on a 1:1 to ratio with marriott points? and same  award availability? you don't you lose anything?

no one mentions IHG card?  I thought with point breaks you can find rooms for as low as 5,000 points a night?

It's usually more like 60 days. (Some reps will even insist on 30)
Any source to what your saying? Have you personally done it?

It's a little tough to get done but there is a number of success stories, just a little Huca.

OK. Does it mean it's easily done or you need to find a rep that agrees.
Either way, I'll try it.
Thanks for the tip.

My friend closed his card and doesn't have a Sapphire or Ink. Are there any other ways for him to keep his points active aside from booking a stay with them?

you don't lose the points on co-branded cards if they are already in the hyatt account

You don't lose the points when you close airline or hotel cards.

"no expiration as long as you redeem or earn at least 1 point every 24 months"
