BES Blackberry in Israel - preferably Cellcom

I have Cellcom and just switched back to my blackberry that I had in the states, after trudging through with an iPhone these last few months. I'm so happy to be back. Cellcom's pricing is as follows:

85 shek a month
No contract (if you byob)
100 MB WAP and 100 MB data (I don't know how they differentiate)
NO international roaming

135 shek a month
Everything above plus 25 MB while roaming CH"L

You can change once to the higher plan but can't change back down, but the rep told me all I gotta do is cancel the bb plan, and then call back and restart it on the lower plan (if I made the change to the higher plan)

Question: Cellcom does not offer BES and I'm desperate for it. I'm willing to pay. They say I need a business plan. Does anyone know if I can simply convert my personal account to a biz? I don't want to switch to orange as I have a very good talk plan and I don't want to carry 2 devices.

Well, one option is 55 ag a min with incoming free like Lou Bob said, but a slightly better option is 29 ag for the first minute and 19 ag thereafter billed by the second

So far it's the sickest plan I've found in Israel.

I HATE the iPhone with a capital I !!!!! Anyone who's ever used a BB and texts a lot and emails a lot and bbm's a lot knows there's no comparison. And once you go BES it's hard to go BIS. Kinda like Once you go black you never go back, and once you go bold it never gets old.

Sprint just discontinued their international data plan (which was compatible with BB). At $40/month for unlimited, it was a great deal.

I don't think it would work for Eli, he's looking for something on Cellcom (or at least an Israeli carrier) so he doesn't have to carry his Israeli phone (for voice calls) and a blackberry for emails/bbm/data etc.

I don't think so. It seems like it isn't available in their systems. The only realistic chance (IMHO) is if it was recently removed from your account and you convince them it wasn't supposed to be removed.

Same (with discounted BB plan) for me.

The plan made sense if you didn't care to either switch back to a regular data plan or stay on that plan indefinitely (for someone who travels internationally all the time).

2 - No, once Cellcom "Service-Book's" it, it disappears.

Bottom line Cellcom CANNOT add BES to a personal account. In order for it to be a business account, it must have 6 lines on it. I don't want to switch to orange because

a) Everyone has my number
b) I have a great plan
c) After hating "APPLE" so much, I don't think I'm prepared to try another fruit just yet.

i belive that for a fee you could now carry over your old number even though the prefix # used to be exclusive
