Did anybody go to KolSave yet? Any reports back?
went last night just to check it out. It is definitely a nice clean shopping experience with plenty of room to move around. It was pretty empty there so maybe with a crowd it wouldnt be like that. They have many items but not everything and if you are looking for a specific brand or product then it might not be there. Prices were similar to sale prices in GG. An example, they dont have 5 different brands of frozen pizza, just one which I think was called brooklyns best. It was selling for $7 and change.

I really don't get the idea of that new store, and whats the idea of not calling it GG but some weird name.

Clean, spacious store but I found it to be so random. If you are looking for a specific item - theres no way to know what youll end up with. Someone wrote about frozen pizza, which is Brooklyn's best - not judging the pizza cause i never had it, but after buying frozen pizza for years, where did they come up with this company? then all the Shoprite stuff....

The prices were good, but as noted, they don't carry the same items in many brands.

It's very different than GG. It's much more price friendly and no-frills.

It has a bit of a Costco feel, but it's really very different. Much more of a selection of product (just not of specific brands) and you generally don't need to buy in the same quantity as you do in Costco (I didn't notice the cereal as I don't usually buy cereal in kosher stores anyhow.

Overall, I would say that it would seem to very much fill the void left when Brach's closed.

Brach's didn't carry name brands?

Sure, Brach's carried name brands, plus some Super A products. Of course their selection was bigger; the store size was double.

The point is, there is now a low cost option, and if  you must have some products with name brands, those are still available elsewhere.

If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

The demand was and is for anything to open that doesn't make you wonder if groceries might actually cost more then tuition

They carry a very limited number of brands, so if demand is for one they don't carry, they might switch. For example, they are currently carrying Shemesh and Ko-Sure cheese, and Bodek frozen produce; they might be able to be convinced to change to NK and Pos-Tiv.

They might also expand or contract a department according to demand.

Do they have their own checked bug-free produce?
