Thanks. Another data point should help. Although it does seem to vary by country and even city. Seems like some places get limited to true 2g speeds at 128 Kbps like my wife got in Toronto and some places have solid 3G speeds.
I forgot to screenshot speedtest but I was able to call using hangouts without a problem
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Seems like a very good alternative to tmobile since it's a tmobile reseller.

For those who were asking about cheap unlimited mobile plans in the US, T-Mobile will be offering unlimited talk and text weekly plans for $10. Data is extra. The current data price is $10/1GB.

I read through the entire thread.

I'm still looking for multiple experiences of people using their Verizon phones and swapping out the Verizon SIM
for the T mobile SIM
 I have a Samsung S4.
Will this combo work in Europe (France) and in Israel?

Looking for web browsing, WAZE capability---what's the consensus?

Any TMobile phone should work also.

There is free data, but it's only 2g that's free internationally. It's fine for checking your email and things like whatsapp but GPS programs don't work on 2g.

I got a golan sim card to use in Israel.  For the (approx) 12.00 a month it costs me, plus what I pay TMO, it's still less expensive than the service I was getting from Verizon!

Waze uses very little data at a time, just enough to track you and update traffic. Over the course of a two hour trip, it usually uses about 15 mb.

No, I was right. It's fifteen mb over two hours, which is very little each second.

So to clarify, if I have a choice plan, and companion also has it, can I tether my data to friend's phone ( where thetes no WiFi) so she can make voice calls on my data WiFi and the other way around?
