oops, I tried applying for a Capital one 360 card and they told me that while there are no fees on their end, there will still likely be fees from the ATM in Israel. There will also be "conversion" fees??? Any ideas??

They mean that they don't take responsibility for a fee charged by the atm you are using so you'll have to make sure your daughter only uses atms that are free. The "conversion fee" probably just means the conversion rate. Capitol one 360 gives a pretty good rare IIRC, probably not as good as CSP though.

Tell your daughter to only use bank ATM's in israel . Not private ones in makolets,  24 hr stores etc . swiping is fine at any store that accepts Mastercard and taking out from banks is great . There are no fees for that. Mastercard gives prob the best conversion rate in my experience .

Ohh, I actually have that CC. But since that is a credit card I don't think that she would be able to withdraw money from an ATM (at least not without huge fees as a cash advance). Am I wrong?

Thank You. Is it safe to assume that bank ATM's in Israel do not charge fees?

No . She shouldn't use that card at the ATM . You are not wrong . If you give her that card as an authorized user she should just make purchases on it. Never use at an atm . It will be a cash advance (talking from experience where my wife wasn't paying attention and pulled money out with it instead of regular debit card- yes , ouch !)

If they charge the fee, capital one 360 will cover it . I've withdrawn from banks with CO360 over the years lots and lots of money . Shell be fine .

Yw . And generally if you have these types of questions or issues meanwhile she's there or when you visit,  probably the best answers you'll get are from the ddfers in israel . I would suggest ask here :

Congrats.
Makes no sense, half hour before they said they can't give me any more credit only way to approve the card Is to shift existing credit line and then they approve a different card with a new line of credit.

See later post, did exactly that. Interesting that for next card they approved new credit line without shifting.

Depends on the card, sometimes the system won't automatically approve u for that high cl so u have to get creative, smaller cl wud be auto approved...
