If I get a 0 APR credit card  for 21 months, will this mess up my good credit?

Depends on your utilization

30% of your credit score is your credit utilization.  That refers to what % of your credit line you're using. So if you're maxing out one card, it would lower your score for the whole 21 months. 
But it still may be worth getting a 0% loan from the cc.  Just max out your cc applications first.

I used my BGR card today a few times, then it stopped working. So I called Amex and they said e/t is fine, it must be an issue with the chip. So I tried typing in the numbers, and it was still declined. Any idea what's going on here? I'd rather not call Amex again, as the less eyes on an account, the better.

Well you should thank your maker that it's not an FR.  It could be that it got flagged for fraud and they put a hold on the card, no matter what it is you'll probably have to call and ask if it doesn't start working again.

But when I called, he said it's fine. He even tried a $500 trial charge, and it went through.

If you hit spend on Sat, spend probably posted yesterday (post date is probably Sunday). The miles will probably post tonight, dated Monday.

If you get them to approve both on sane day then yes. Otherwise , second card is approved a different day then the pull is a second inquiry
