No, some banks cancel out $1 or $2.  If they require payment of the amount, it gets reported.
I stand corrected.

I stand corrected.

You can leave $2 on Discover and they will write it off as a "small balance credit".  And you can do it every month.  Forever.   Basically Discover will pay you $24/yr to keep their CC.

I like the way you put it. But isn't it $1.99 or less $2 already they won't credit you?

I think it's actually $2.99.  $2 gets waived for sure.

I've bought lots of $2 Amazon gift cards ;)

It's also the reason the $2 trick is  the $3 trick if implemented via Discover.

If I paid Amex credit card balance online from my bank account and would like to send them a check instead for the payment from another account. Can this be done?

Will the check be accepted and credit made available on the card, or would the payment check be rejected as balance been paid in full?

They let you pay over your balance, I'm not sure if they limit how much, or if it's different if you don't owe anything.

Can you still cancel the payment?

Payment has been made over a week ago, can’t.

no.  But keep some action on that card, because you don't want it cancelled.  'Length of credit history' is a factor in your score.

Thanks

If you weren't yet charged the annual fee, then I guess it's waved the first year. Then no you won't be charged at all if you downgrade early enough.

If you were charged in the beginning of the year then you'll get back the percentage that you didn't use.
