Thanx. What about points earned after the merge? Anybody else have this experience?
Try it and report back. heres the email i originaly got from them, but as pointed out before they never actually reversed it.
Dear M*********,
Thank you for contacting Starwood Preferred Guest regarding duplicate accounts. We appreciate your loyalty to SPG and I hope this email finds you well.
Per your request, I have located your referenced SPG accounts. Before I noticed them to have different first names, I merged them. This was an error which will be corrected and reversed. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
We are unable to allow combination of individual accounts, whether for spouses' accounts, or for other members of your household. However, we do allow unlimited Starpoint transfers between accounts of members in the same household for redemption purposes, if the following requirements are met:
Both members live at the same postal address. (Starwood Vacation Network members (“Owners”) may transfer Starpoints between two designated Starwood Vacation Network Preferred Guest accounts, regardless of whether the accounts have the same residential address.)
The recipient is not an employee of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.
Members may not transfer Starpoints to/from an account that has a P.O. Box, APO or SPO as the address.
Both accounts must have been enrolled and active for at least 30 days.
You may now fill out the online transfer request form. You will be asked to provide the quantity of Starpoints to be transferred, as well as the member number and last name of the account you wish to transfer to. Once account verification has taken place, a confirmation email will be sent to you within ten business days.
Best Regards,
