Anyone made their own apple cider? I'm thinking about trying out some, and going to the beer shop in mevaseret (http://www.thewinemaker.co.il), but would like to see if anyone has some pointers first.

I have. Really simple.
Go to farmers market and buy fresh presses apple cider-unpasteurized. (May need to request specially)
Put in carboy with airlock, wait a few weeks, prime and bottle.
If can't get unpastuerized cider, then pitch a chmpagne yeast. Does that need a hechsher? There is a kosher one I have seen from France which I used.
Frankly though, first buy a commercial hard apple cider (Harpoon makes one) and see if you like it. It isn't my favorite.
