Your best bet is to search once the awards become live to check to see how many they're releasing.

Your best bet would be to see what's available now for the saver level and then follow Drago's advice.

Will a mix of KL and DL qualify? YQ much cheaper, KL YQ cheaper than AF

Very good availability for TLV-Marseille for 15k + (as low as) $69 for RT on direct flights.

A few other good values ex-TLV (all prices are RT and economy):

Panama City - 30k + $250 (good availability)
Johannesberg - 45k + $285 (very good availability)
Kuala Lumpur - 40k + $270 (so so availability)

Obviously there are many other, but these were some of the few 50% discounts.

Hi,

I found round trip from JFK to TLV with 1 stopover leaving 1/28 and returning 2/4 for 37,500 FB miles and $301. Is that a good deal and how much does it work out each mile is worth.

Also is that a better deal then 50,000 FB miles and $70, and why?

Thank You,

Tzvi

50k + 70 is better IMO, but a lot depends as to how many miles you have, and what your cash sensitivity is.
AF miles are worth around 1.2-1.5 per mile.

Thanks Drago.

When you say AF you mean Air France/Flying Blue, correct?

Also I forgot to mention that the 50k is with Delta and is non-stop, so if it's better or even similar I rather the non-stop.

Based on the 1.2-1.5 the 50,000 is cheaper.

Correct, AF=Air France.
And non stop itself makes it worth it.

Thank you, but now I would have to transfer either 40k star points or 50k MR points. So what does that give me in value for each point?

Calculate how much a revenue ticket would cost, and reduce that by the value of the accumulated miles and cc spend. That'll then give you the value of these miles.

At the risk of showing my ignorance, heck I am, I'm lost.

Can someone 'esplain in plain English what this program is and why it is different from any FF/miles program.  Specifically, how does one go from NY/JFK to TLV--what does one look for, and is there more than one airline relevant for that trip.  Thanks much.

And one more item.  Which points/mileage are applicable to this.  I have SPG and UR.

To answer your second post;

"Want to pickup some Flying Blue miles?
AMEX MR points transfer to Flying Blue at a 1:1 ratio and Starpoints transfer at a 20:25 ratio so 20K Starwood becomes enough for a round-trip ticket."

Took this from Dan's main page post.

Yes, thanks for pointing that out.  I guess my question was broader, in that what kind of points are the main points without a transfer.

You search the Air France website to see if there is availability on your dates.
You then decide if it's worth transferring your SPG points to your Air France mileage account. (It will take a few days to transfer).
Once the miles are in your account, you can book the flights assuming they're still available.

This is helpful.

And this is a new program?  Only with Air France?  Is it an ongoing program or limited to the deals now?  Thanks.

Can one transfer the points back to SPG if the flight is not available?  I suspect not?

Ongoing, and they have these promos every few months.
And even w/o the promos, they're a good way to fly to TLV in economy.

In your dreams  :)
