I don't recommend malwarebytes running alongside pretty much anything. Two active real-time protection programs is usually a recipe for disaster.

Software: Free - Avast, Paid - Kaspersky.
Use Google Chrome with uBlock.

So you don't think it's necessary to have a malware protection program in addition to avast?

ABP has 4.5 stars from over 67k thousand users on the Chrome store. Ublock has a 5 star rating from just over 1500 users.
This article claims that ublock uses significantly less memory, so won't slow you down as much.

uBlock is new, and it just came out of beta. I've been using it for several months in FF, and it works just as well as ABP. I haven't compared memory usage, but that is their claim why they're better, and ABP does use alot of memory.

Latest Avast release no longer crashes with K9.

or if you are already running avast, run the update tool (right-click on avast icon on bottom right {tray})

I started noticing that I'm unable to submit certain forms through Chrome. The 2 examples that came up where the Target Prepaid Redcard site where I wasn't able to enter the security question answer, and logging into my Aeroplan account. Just tried disabling Ublock, and it now works. To confirm I enabled it again, and it doesn't work. Also Didn't let me open link from DDMS to Hilton offer. Anyway to change it's settings to allow?

Add the domain to the white list in Settings.

Click on the Ublock button and there will be a large blue power logo to turn off blocking for that site.

Replied to you in other thread, but I suggested updating filterlists and clearing/purging (ublock) cache.

It's still in beta, so it hasn't been reviewed by Mozilla yet. You need to download the xpi from the ublock site.

you dont need to download xpi from ublock. it can also be dl'ed here:
