Almost a nono, but a CGSO 13 SO 1h1w, still not a bad night...

Is this his 3rd or 4th time this year taking a noon into at least the seventh?

How does this translate into next year? What should we expect from them next year? Better than .500?
Expectations for next year are pretty high. If they sign an ace (Lester/Max Scherzer) or a TOR guy (like Samardzjia) they should be really good 90+ wins and they easily have the money to do so. If they don't they still should be over .500 and in the playoff chase.
Reasoning, Castro+Rizzo+Soler+Bryant (for 80% of season) is really strong middle of order, Coghlan/Alcantara, Baez, Olt, Wellington Castillo (aka Beef) and possibly Russell can add a lot as well, good young bullpen and starters like Arrieta and Hendricks (starting tonight)...

It would be really nice if he can be their #2 next year and they have an ace in front of him...

So, the biggest story of the baseball off-season so far is that the Cubs hired Joe Maddon. This is especially significant because it means that they believe they are playoff bound this year (and they expect to make it for the next five years), so a coach with experience getting to the playoffs and managing there makes a huge difference.
You heard it here first but when they start doing well in 2015 there will be much talk about Back to the Future 2 predicting that the Cubs win the World Series in 2015. Too bad the Marlins are in the National League and not much better than a 500 team - cause they're supposed to beat Miami in 5.
Not saying that it would be easy to go from winning 73 to playoffs but apparently others are: http://espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/story/_/id/11817495/chicago-cubs-become-popular-world-series-pick-hiring-joe-maddon
Next move hopefully will be signing Jon Lester...

LESTER!!!!!

That makes the starting rotation Lester, Arietta, Hendricks, Wood (not Kerry), and Hamell...

yes they will be good... They would have finished above .500 without this signing. Now, if they don't make the playoffs (for about the next 10 years straight) it will be a disappointment.

No. But, I did post on a thread that will still be here after the season and you can give me a -1 or a tongue... Also, the Vegas odds have drastically gone up over the past two months, and ppl are betting on them winning World Series. I'm not gonna go that far though...
