My understanding is that officially IHG points don't expire.

I have a bucketful of IHG points expiring in a couple months.
What's easiest/best way to start the clock & extend them?
Thanks!

Note that IHG points require activity every 12 months, but you can just redeem for a hotel award and cancel it to extend the expiration for another 12 months.

Does anyone have or remember the T&C for the "5,000 bonus for 1 weekend stay" that is often received around ones birthday?

I'm pretty sure it was one night and they're claiming it was for 2 night.

Doubt it. There are many reasons why it wouldnt work from the list below.

“Non-Qualifying Room Rates” or “Non-Qualifying Stay” include the following: any stay at a Kimpton Hotel, net wholesale individual and group rate, certain package rates, employee discount rate, friends and family rate, crew rate, special discounted contract rates, seasonal worker/crew rate, 50% travel club discount rate, travel industry discount rate, distressed passenger rate, IHG® Rewards Club Reward Nights/Airline Hotel Reward rate, rates booked through third party web sites, complimentary hotel Stays and any other rates not defined as a Qualifying Room Rate at IHG’s sole discretion."

I'm wondering if complimentary night is also referring to a BRG or only a free night certificate.

It doesn't get disqualified for any of these reasons? I'm not sure exactly how u did ur BRG, but I could see many reasons who it shouldnt count. Maybe these?

-certain package rates
-friends and family rate
-special discounted contract rates
-rates booked through third party websites
-complimentary hotel Stays

I don't see a manager approving it. If it will go through on auto, you never know...

The only one that it can fall under is " complimentary hotel Stays "

They're going out of their way to show you that its only for full price paid stays. Do u really think it would work? Also see edit
