Craigslist. I got hundreds of free boxes from there. People move and then give em away. I got tons of packing materials, bubble wrap, boxes...all free!

I heard that the Home Depot has pretty good prices on these. Plus, I don't know what you need the boxes for, but if you actually need them for moving read this post to take advantage of a 10% off coupon from the Home Depot: http://www.dansdeals.com/forums/index.php?topic=3313.msg34417#msg34417

Or buy lots of pampers on amazon ;D those boxes are pretty strong. Although the hole on the bottom needs to be taped over.

Diaper boxes are strong but tiny.

Boxes have weight limits, a box which is used for diapers probably cannot handle seforim well.

I'm with David on this one. Although the box is actually used for diapers, it doesn't necessarily mean that it doesn't handle anything heavier than the diapers...
Those boxes are heavy duty.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
I am moving actually and I would like the getting of the boxes to be a simple and effective ordeal. I don't mind getting them for free, but I think craigslist is a little impractical (driving form place to place to pick them up, and dealing with garbage that people get rid of on you).
So what store is the cheapest for it?
Or where can I get them for free in one shot?

I found CL to be so easy. Look at the free section in your area. You'll be surprised at how many people are giving them away (truth is i dont know what the free CL section is like in NYC). When i did it, i found so many people in vary close radius. All it took was 2 people and i had more boxes than i could possibly use. They were neatly stacked in both people's garages and they helped me load my car. Saved me alot of money and was well worth it for me.

Dont even know...our move took at least 60-80 boxes...possibly more. no clue what they even cost. Why buy something people will gladly give you for free:)

They are pretty costly. What did you do with them after you moved, put it back on CL?

Really thanks everyone for the CL suggestions and grocery stores but i think I'm gonna go with buying them. I am looking for the place where I can find them for the lowest price available. I f anyone has any input on that, it would be greatly appreciatted.

They are definitely not the cheapest. For example: they sell one box that's 16" x 12" x 12" (1.5 cu/ft) for $1.70. Whereas the Home Depot sells a double the size box 18" x 18" x 16" (3.0 cu/ft) for $0.97.
Still looking for cheaper though.
