i just bought one for my dad since he loves mine..
i got him the Tumi Continental 20in Carry-On
Approximately 16in wide x 20in tall x 8.5in deep, expandable up to 10.5in deep; 13lbs

make sure you buy under 45 total inches to comply with guidelines

have a belt, was a good deal (ebay) otherwise +1, tumi is not for a true ddfer

Disagree.
Tumi bags are excellent quality and their customer service has been great IME.

Worth noting, the bags on Rue Lala are Gen4 or T tech and not the classic Alpha. They look quite similar but there are some differences.  They don't sell Gen4 in the retail locations (only in outlets) so to get them to replace a bag is trickier.

They're solid and built very well. They are generally not very light.
They do have a lightweight line though you can see it is not as structurally solid.

did u do the research? i bought a very expensive set of samsonite (before i knew about ddf but was one at heart) from the outlet stores... there 3 yrs old has been on MANY flights still in perfect condition

On the set I bought? Nope... figured $100 for two samsonite (one checked and carry on) bags with a costco warrantee cant be too bad.
