Just searched the forums and cant find what you are being meramez to, although i do recall reading (possibly upthread) that you can get them to send you a check?

This is just an FYI for those who do not want to deal with keeping track of the American Express Rebate Reward card received from your Canon DSLR/Pixma Printer deal. As you know we now receive the AMEX card which is a pain to deal with. The card also carries a $2 monthly fee after 6 months.
To make a long story short if you just received the card and have not yet started using it, then you can call 1-888-872-8539 , press - enter your card details and press option 5 and then option 0. Ask for corporate division (since the rebates are from Canon corporate). Then let them know they you would like a check mailed to you in lieu of the card. They will check and verify that Canon does allow a check to be mailed for this program. Wait for the claim number (write it down for tracking purposes).

That's it. I just exchanged my rebate card for a check.

how about for non canon amex prepaid cards?

Any AMEX rebate card comes with terms that say you can reject the terms and get a check.

Amex Prepaid Card:

Although you receive a prepaid card, you have 2 other payment options. You can have Amex send you a check (20 business days) or you can have them transfer the funds to your bank account (15 business days). I suggest this be done before you start using it, although I did not inquire about this. You need to call customer service. I chose the bank transfer route.

Ok, Ok, I will call tomorrow.
Actually today i called sprint to $0 out the bills, was planing to call tmobile tomorrow to work out whats going on with those bills. I like dealing with one company per day (as sometimes a stubborn rep. who you waited on hold for 20 min can really ruin your day) and prefer to call while driving.

They asked for all the info, put me on hold for 6 min to verify, and told me i would have a check in 20 business days.
