I just figured it out. I only signed up today and is only available for people who had accounts before today.

You need just 40% of the miles to book an award. Then, at the time of booking an award you can buy the remaining miles you need for just 1.25c a mile. IIRC, you can book Singapore Airlines business class awards for very cheap this way. Also, no YQ surcharges on awards.

I think a certain blog just outed the secret. But I'm not fully sure what the secret is, but what they did write seems to be pretty awesome. They even ended the post saying- was this a mistake to publish all the info for people who might not know it.
