:)

BTW regarding the first picture, it all comes down to what we discussed about compression. Both our pictures were taken from the exact same spot, yet they look completely different. That's the difference between my 14mm and your 29mm...
I think there's a bit more to it than just focal length :)

Thanks a ton, Fishy! You just cost me a crapload of money.  The photography DO inspired me so much, that I just ordered the NEX-6L, to replace my almost new NEX-3.  >:(

So long as I'm breaking the bank already anyway, what other cool toys should I order quickly, before I go back to Israel? (Like a remote, tripod, etc. If it's availalbe for purchase via Amazon Prime, that's a huge plus. :D)

good. Smart move. Especially if you can use an Amex/bonus points threshhold card.

Great pics guys... looks like this DO was nicer weather then the CLE DO. Wish I was able to make it.

Fishy's pics even make the moss on the rock look nice. Was the actual distance from the rock to the falls more accurate in SF's or whYME's pic?

;D ;D ;D

Get a remote, tripod (with a ballhead is best), some filters (circular polarizer, ND), maybe a spare battery, a couple more lenses ;)...

Yeah... Slightly better ;). No toes were harmed in the making of this DO.

whYME's. I was using an ultra-wide angle lens which exaggerates near/far relationships, making the falls appear further away.

Not sure if this Promaster XC525 tripod for 169 from Amazon prime is good but take a look - It was recommended really highly in my local camera shop and after playing with it for a few minutes I really liked the feel and weight. It folds up really tiny and felt sturdy although I don't have much basis for comparison. Thoughts anyone?

What probably makes the most sense is for you to give a date and max distance that works for you and then take it from there.

About instead of scenery. Do something indoors. Or with people, even strangers. People watching. Or sports?

SomethingFishy,

I give you "some*" credit for taking all the time you do, helping other less experienced people learn how to capture the beautiful things in life (well some of them at least).
It's really empowering seeing people be so selfless and helping to complete strangers. We can all learn a lot from you.

Looking forward to next time IY"H
Thank you :)
