Merging united mileage plus accounts
« on: September 13, 2010, 03:52:29 PM »
I opened the chase united visa a couple of months ago for 50k miles. I read somewhere that if its closed within 6 months they can take back the miles. If i open another mileage plus account same name and address will they let me merge the 2 accounts using the newer mileage plus number? If yes will this prevent chase from taking back the miles after i close the card since the number they have on file will be a closed account?

I've never had a cc company take back the signup bonus miles.

Did you ever close a chase card within 6 months of getting a signup bonus?

I think if Dan waited 6 months before closing every card he would be a very old man...

Closed it. Now i want to apply again for 30k does anyone have any experience churning united cards? Is it like the continental card that you give them a different mileage number and then merge the mileage accounts?
