You gotta insert the DVD and input the activation key. No installation required. I'v done this like ten times

That's what they write in the rebate's T&C. I never tried submitting without activating. Just use a VCC or a card you know will be closed in a year. No installation is needed. It's no biggie.

i sent in a rebate from newegg a couple months back and they never got back to me. I finally called and emailed and they said i should email them all the copies of the rebate papers that i mailed in. Ye, like i made copies.....

I have only had positive experiences with newegg.  There was one time I sent it on the last day and they sent me a letter that claimed it was postmarked to late but when I called them they made an exception for me.
 I read on sd that people have had very bad experiences with rebates from tiger direct.  Anyone here have problems recently?
