I just want to post how amazed I was with Kriss FLyer.

I found F availability for a SIN flight, B4 I transferred a ton of points I called them if they can hold it for 2 days for the transfer time. They told me they cant find the availability and that I should try booking online because they dont see it.
I huca'd a few X (zero wait time) and every agent said they don't see the what I see.
10 min later I get a call from Singapore on my cell, an apologetic agent tells me that they are so sorry but she was using the Singapore terminal, and she went into the NY terminal and she can find it, and she reserved it for 2 weeks for me.

Question:
I have miles stuck in Singapore because it used to be cheaper to fly United to Israel using Singapore Miles than United.
It now costs 90000 RT in Coach.

I booked a one way for 45000 it cost 23.68 for airport taxes instead of the united fee of 5.60.

From the US, what would you recommend would be the most bang for your buck for Krisflyer miles with the new devaluation?
Is Hawaii still a good bet?
Better for Europe via LH?

Thanks.

Yes Hawaii, Carribean and Central America are all great at 35k RT. We went to Panama, with a free stopover in Cancun for 35k pp.  You could even technically let’s say start in Hawaii, go to Carribean and end in your home city.

Points from Amex didn't come through over night. Anyone have success calling Amex and having them try to expedite? (SQ advised me to do so)

It never worked for me. Transfers frequently get delayed over the weekend.

I don't think AMEX can do anything, but if you ask hard enough (supervisor etc.) you might get SQ to issue an award (assuming it's for close in travel) by sending them proof that you initiated the MR transfer (they offered me that option once).
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

That offer was actually made to me when they botched my reservation for a J ticket on TK and they only available alternative was LH in F. I didn’t do it for several reasons and rather opted for for a TK revenue ticket in J.

Anyone know if sq stopover rules allow stopover in origin city? I want to do nyc - tlv - nyc - Hawaii, several months stop in nyc. Is this allowed? If not, which airlines still lets you do this?

No it can’t be an origin city and I think they are not allowing stopovers in the continental US at all. Maybe try instead for a creative open jaw that could have you ending to Hawaii

"Hi,
I am looking to fly Singapore Airlines flight 26 business class from SIN to JFK.  I have a few questions.

1. The flight shows a 2 hour layover in Frankfurt, but both legs are showing flight #26. Do you leave the plane on this layover? If allowed to leave, what type of lounge access i there?

2. SearGuru shows 4 different seating configurations for the a380. What version is used on this flight? Is it the new "2018" seats?

3, Any other comments on this flight?

Thanks

Does Singapore charge close-in fee for United flights?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

Flights that are showing on United.com aren't showing on Singapore's website. Didn't they start allowing bookings on website?

Officially. Doesn't seem to be fully functional. Call and make sure they don't charge you a phone booking fee. Say that it's not bookable online.

What's the deal with stopovers on domestic partner awards with SQ?

Could I theoretically book BOS-EWR//EWR-PIT, stopping in NYC over shabbos, for only 12.5k?

Yes but only theoretically, good luck finding an agent to do it for you.

Stopover question:

EWR-LAX(stopover)-OGG;OGG-EWR

Is the LAX stopover allowed since the destination is Hawaii, or is it still considered a domestic award?

I'll answer my own question from the official Krisflyer program guide:

"No stopovers are permitted for purely domestic travel, or within the country of departure in an itinerary."

The second part of that sentence invalidates my stopover.
