There was a small glitch when I signed up which said $10 but then refreshed and saw $20.  I am not sure if I got the $10 or $20 but seems like a similar situation...

The $20 refferal bonus is dead now its $10

Maybe that should have been updated in the MS article then.

Now I feel ripped off.  >:(

Weren't there promo codes that I could have used to get 25 off? Like hipmunk or kaleb or whatever?

I don't follow. They charge your card for signing up?
No, they charge your card if you've gone over the amount you have on the app...

I SM'd after applying and told the what happened. I just got a response from them.

The $20 referral code ended on 4/25. It is now $10. They were nice enough to credit me, but I think it should be changed in the MS post.

There are probably 20 main site posts on uber that I'd have to update.  When a deal dies shortly after its posted (its still on the home page), it's updated.

Otherwise it would require 10 employees to keep track of every post and keep 40,000 archived posts updated for every change.

Either way on the enroll page it said you would get $10.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

It's called internship, Danielsan. There are plenty of people who will do your schlepper work for a chance at a little shimush. Their parents might even pay you.  :)

I didn't enter the prmo code when I signed up so I contacted support and they gave it to me.

For everything except in town rides they are cheaper than my local taxi.  A 12.00 regular taxi ride only cost $8 something with uber -TIP Included is what the driver told me!  The only time I wouldn't use it is within my town.  The local taxi is $5.00 a flat rate within the city limits (3.5sq miles.)

In NYC Uber is more expensive than a yellow cab.

UberX - $6 base fare  $0.75 per minute or $3 per mile.

Yellow cab - Standard City Rate (Rate Code 1)
$2.50 upon entry
$0.50 for each additional unit
The unit fare is: one-fifth of a mile, when the taxicab is traveling at 6 miles an hour or more; or
60 seconds when not in motion or traveling at less than 6 miles per hour.

Also Uber charges the rate by minute if you are going less than 11 MPH instead of 6

Elliot at Uber (Uber)
May 08 07:33

Hi Sruly,

Thanks for reaching out! Happy to help.

For now, we're only able to provide one car seat per uberFAMILY vehicle.

Children allowed to ride in the IMMI Go seat must be at least:
12 months old and
22 lbs. and
31 inches

A child is too big once they reach any of these limits:
48 lbs. or
52 inches or
The shoulder straps start below the child’s shoulders

You may allow a second child to ride at your discretion. We're looking into the possibility of offering additional seats in the future.

For more information, you can check out our FAQ here.

If you have any further questions please feel free to let me know. Hope to see your family riding with us soon!

Best,

Elliot

As someone who never used Uber before, what would be the best offer to join? (shouldn't this be in a wiki?)
