If they weren't they wouldn't have a problem looking at the master threads.

Just found the post everyone's talking about. DDFB has become a mess, and if anything, I think it's giving DD a bad name.

It's become (maybe it's always been?) a community board and if that's okay, then the posts asking for food in Miami make sense. The constant flight deal requests that are met with a Dov Bennish "pm sent" and the jokes from the past week don't belong in a community board. More importantly, I don't think DDFB should be a community board. I do not think Dan should be moderating and deleting posts; I think the group should either be locked and only have DDMS posts shared to it like the Twitter account, or it should be deleted and a Facebook Page created (which is really more appropriate for a business) where DDMS posts are shared and people can therefore comment with relevant Q's on those posts in the same way people comment on the actual DDMS posts with relevant Q's.

however I don't blame him, he sells tickets for a living so if he sees some moron selfishly posting that he's looking one why shouldn't he try to sell him a flight?

You serious? Of course he is, but he's using Dan's forum to do so. (Forum as in the word, not DDF.) What did he do before DDFB? Does he have no other marketing techniques? Are you suggesting Dan keep DDFB open (assuming all other reasons led him to think it was time to close shop) so that Dov can keep his Parnassah?

No I did not suggest that at all, Mr. Dov's Parnasah should have no bearing on Dan's decision to keep DDFB open or closed. But as long as it's open in the format that it is now i see no problem with what he's doing...

He's not preying on the weak in a hospital, but he's just going after people in someone else's forum that have an issue he can address. Seems inappropriate to me.

I should also make it clear, that yes, I know I can just turn off notifications or leave the group if I don't like it so much. I'm just playing the side of the argument that says modify it/shut it down.

Why is it a problem profiting off somebody else's forum? If Dan was a travel agent I would agree with you, but he's not taking parnassah away from Dan in any way that I could think of.
