Help Need a cell phone for a hospital stay

 OK I have no idea of what is out there hopefully someone can offer a suggestion

My Mother is going in for a hip replacement surgery the end of next week, she now decided she wants a cell phone = she doesnt want to be locked into a contract and really only needs it during her stay for rehab

She said something about a Trac Phone whats that? is there any phone that will offer a decent call out rate and free incoming?

 this is for the NYC area

AT&T will be much cheaper than tracphone.

just buy her a at&t phone you could get them @ 8.99
(or 29.99 +25 CALL CREDIT)
and its $2 a day (only the day u use it) for unlimited

                                  2320 $19.99 comes with $15 air time

                                  2680 $24.99 comes with $30 air time

 so the Dummy (me) wants to know since the $2 unlimited per day would be the best bet , how do I go about hooking it up that way, by what means is the $2 a day paid? does the air time it comes with allow the unlimited plan to be used? can this phone be ordered on line and picked up in a AT&T corp store? since the unlimited plan is the best (cheapest) does it make sense to go with the 2330?

 I have no problems admitting Im a DUMMY when it comes to tech stuff its just not my jig

 so the Dummy (me) wants to know since the $2 unlimited per day would be the best bet , how do I go about hooking it up that way, by what means is the $2 a day paid? does the air time it comes with allow the unlimited plan to be used? can this phone be ordered on line and picked up in a AT&T corp store? since the unlimited plan is the best (cheapest) does it make sense to go with the 2330?

 OK Thanks I purchased the 2680 last night even thou I didnt care for the phone as I thought the simplest phone would have been best for her, but when it worked out costing $27.21 and came with the $30 card , I figured it was best going with that phone after all I hope all she will need it for is 3-4 weeks max during rehab . The 2330 would have ran $41.40 with the $30 card

So you want it removed? I generally tend to think people who make insensitive comments at others are not too sensitive and can take some of it themselves. Maybe I'm wrong
