the C.Gourmet priced at $2.79 in NPGS Lakewood and $2.89 at KRM are still much cheaper than the enjoy life chunks. And, many say they are creamier and more chocolately tasting, too...

Mail not needed for henche if he has 25+ stores in Brooklyn to choose from.. He's busy, I'll find out who will be nearby and can bring to him...

So I only bought one box, because it is mini chips. If it was chunks I'd have bought two. I also would like to taste the vegan ones, even though they're vegan, but I don't know how to reliably get them, even though I'm hanging out in brooklyn these days until the little guy comes home (he was a early). He's very cute, btw.

Depending how long you are in NY (did you already have the Sholom Zochor?), then pple can bake cookies for it...

I heard from many people that they'd only chop up Schmerling's chocolate bars to bake cc cookies for the past 2 years, bec all the other choc was horrible...

if you davka want a recipe, there's a margarine-free recipe on the Calif Gourmet bag that's very quick and easy. 9 basic ingredients. Only 9 minutes in the oven. Got good reviews.

sooooo true! Was just shopping in NPGS almost finished a whole bag (k I gave some to my friends - and the manager liked them!).

Great testimonial! Thank you! Definitely a fresh, and real chocolate difference. (It's a $6-7 choc package for under $3.) 

Which manager liked them? In NPGS? I've been in touch with Rabbi Sender (he's the buyer). Will call this week to get feedback. He's a great guy.

From Dining In... Wholesome Chocolate Chip-Oatmeal Cookies...
5 eggs, 2 C. flour (can substitute whole wheat), 1 C. wheat germ, 1 tsp. baking soda, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 and a half C. brown sugar, 3/4 C. sugar, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1 and a half C. oil, 2 and a half C. orange juice, 6 C oatmeal, 2 C. chocolate chips. Yield about 5 dozen.
Preheat oven to 400. Combine all ingredients, except chocolate chips, in a mixing bowl and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets, 1 and a half inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Do not over-bake...

My notes... 2 cups is about one and a half bags of cc's. You may need more than the stated amount of oatmeal (if it seems too watery add oatmeal). Can skip wheat germ and add some flour and oatmeal instead. We use costco Ultragrain flour. We use olive oil. *After cookies cool down we put them in ziplock bags and freeze, then eat straight from frozen, this somehow makes them taste better.

Interesting. Good to know. Where did you locate them? On this end cap - as shown in photo? Or also shelved somewhere else, and this is 'back-up' supply?
How would you describe this product location to someone who is looking? (And is there a price posted anywhere?)

It is only there, not by all the shelves. Usually sale or post sale items are there.
It is an end cap, but I would call it a "front cap" it's right opposite the cash register (front of store - near last register).
Lakewood stores are not so good about posting prices, but it is there according to my friend.
There are a lot less then in that pic (less then 20).

Def recommend BenZ's on Albany where it's $3.29 per bag or 2 for $5.

However if this group can only come to CH after 9pm, or of there is a quantity limit, or if the special price times out, then the per-case could be an option.

Try BenZ first: 332 Albany Avenue. Great store, excellent gourmet selection.

These chocolate chips are the best by far, don't have any TJ chips anymore to compare it too, and never tried the enjoy life ones.

Hahaha I tried everything else (about 10 other brands) besides for enjoy life, and these are the best of what we have.

+100    That's how we were rating them, too. We tasted them as better than the other brands out there, better quality and cheaper than many pareve options.
