Closing all my AMEX cards, where should i transfer points to?
« on: February 19, 2014, 03:04:05 PM »
I am going to close my amex cards (platinum and zync), i have around 160k points.
Where should i transfer my points to? Should i wait for a bonus offer?
I have always transfered them to Air France, and I always got good deals on flights to Europe even though I had to constantly search for flights.

It's always nice to keep your options open (based on flight availability), maybe downgrade to Green rewards or transfer them to Business Blue card and wait for the next offer

You need to not have the "same product" for a year. Though having a business card is different than personal and if you get one of those, you can get the bonus.

Bump.

Any way to transfer points to United, or are the only options BA, SPG, Alitalia, Delta.

Trying to find out what AMEX points are actually good for.

Thanks!

If you are intent on closing your cards transfer them to BA for USA travel. Air Canada for European travel.. Its very vague as there are many options but my suggestion is to open a free no annual fee everyday amex card & youll get to keep all your points & not pay any af

There are also a bunch of other partners (UA is not a partner). Amex has partners that can book UA flights, though, like Singapore and aeroplan (aka Air Canada).
