For iPhone/iPad/iOs
Check out their quite easy and powerful content restrictions.
Suggestion: Have someone else have the password (or half and half with a spouse) and do the following:
Lock installing apps + remove browser + add apps you need (possible rules: no games, no sports, no entertainment, etc.).
[Occasionally an app will have a built in browser/or need to access a certain website - just go back in to settings (with password) and add that website].
There is time restrictions and more features too.
(May not be enough for teenagers - consult your own advisers - this solution sure beats doing nothing and there is no excuse)

most routers yes. yes, although most clients can configure their own custom dns servers and choose to ignore the one set on router.
Any recommendations? In this case the users won't be bypassing anything.

The more advanced routers offer firewalls that can block all DNS traffic excluding packets with opendns ip addresses as destination. I can confirm that this works, if a client tries to connect with alternate DNS servers, the connection will be refused
Really?  Good to know!  Will look into this...

Sure - I wont elaborate on the way around it - but this is how the firewall should be setup for opendns

Opendns -  208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220 - Allowed - Port 53 - UDP

All others -  * - Blocked - Port 53 - UDP

You were talking about a filter. If you want to block the browser completely then you are fine with restrictions

It doesn't need to be blocked completely, as you can make your own white list, but yeah I guess u were talking about a "filter"

I am getting a Chromebook and came here looking for filtering options-clearly there aren't many. What do you think about Mobicip - http://www.mobicip.com/? I just came across it and it seems pretty impressive. Strong web filtering and some apps also like YouTube.

But easily removable. You may want to add a dns based filter, but that can also be changed easily.

Is livigent good for android phone?
Does it slow down phone or browser?
Can I still have access to phone settings?
Is livigent owned by TAG?
TIA!

If you work on the stock market that every millisecond makes a difference, then you are right.
Otherwise you won't be affected....
