You can get a carseat or similar "exception" item checked for free if you're with kids.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Also with an infant? Might be cheaper then paying overweight.

Most airports have those rent-an-infant booth which you can use. (And you are getting another US Airways hit with it).

There's no rule like that, but if you select in the kiosk that you are checking a child exception item (carseat, etc) it will print out a free checked luggage sticker.   I suppose a nice agent may circumvent the system like that.

We all did.
two 50lb bags were free up until three and a half years ago.
Unless your good days lasted less than that....

They lasted less, or better said, till earlier than that.

And I did not say 100lbs, I said 100's.
I could still do it from most airports.

I know that on most airlines when you fly to israel with a "child" ticket you get 20 lb bag for the child I assume domestic if baggage is free then child also gets some sort of free baggage
