Follow-up question: I assume you make hoadomo on the onion. Do you regularly eat plain raw onions during the year, or is this the only time?
Also: do you eat any other vegetable in addition to the onion by karpas? (Someone mentioned a potato?)

Keep your astonishment for the Ropshitz minhag. Potatoes is used for כרפס although they made a שהכל on potatoes during the year.
