I'm a bad boy for never getting my trip report in. I sat every night and made a detailed report, unfortunately I don't know where it is now.

As for your Q, While I was on my cruise they had told us that Atlantis will sell out by the time we get there and they wanted to sell tickets which they had pre-purchased at a higher rate.

Long story short, they (the cruise people) are FOS and we just bought the tickets once we arrived there. We were directed into the Casio where they had a booth selling tickets for entrance into the resort.

do you remember how much they charged for resort entrance?

In the range of 90-100 each IIRC.

FYI the sheraton nassau is a pretty lousy hotel, i would advise to stay on near the atlantis

Since the Sheraton Nassau isn't recommended, are there any points options that someone can recommend?

I got it for them with C & P so it really wasn't a big deal.

Looks like in this hotel it you book with C&P they charge you a $40/night resort fee. I don't see any mention of the fee when booking with points only. It makes the C&P option pretty weak.

You didn't have to pay it at the hotel at checkout when they paid the cash portion?

Here is the screenshot of the rate using C&P which shows what needs to be paid in addition to the "cash" portion. Using points only there is nothing else not included.

I actually stayed at the resort 2 years ago.. Got a flight and 4 nights through cheapcarribean for less then $1k for two people. This was during July though.

Resort is decent but nothing special. Casino is old and has like 5 blackjack tables. I would personally stay in Atlantis if I head out there again

Just got this email regarding a reservation I have in February:

As a valued Starwood Preferred Guest member, we are contacting you to inform you of a change in the status of the Sheraton Nassau. As of December 1st, 2013 the property will no longer be part of Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide or the Sheraton brand and will no longer participate in the Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) program.  The hotel will be transitioning to the Meliá Nassau Beach Resort and will be managed by Meliá Hotels International.

We see you are currently holding a reservation, confirmation number XXXXXX, arriving on XX February, 2014 and departing on XX February, 2014. We are very pleased to inform you that the hotel will honor your reservation for a Preferred (free) Night Award, including Cash and Points, as your stay was originally confirmed. However, since the hotel will no longer be affiliated with the Starwood system, you will not earn Starpoints for any eligible charges incurred, nor will you receive any of your Starwood Preferred Guest membership amenities or benefits. We hope we can count on your understanding.

The Meliá Nassau team is looking forward to welcoming you. You may contact the resort directly at 242-327-6000 with questions regarding your reservation. Should you wish to connect with a member of our Customer Service Team you may email us at executive.guest.service@starwoodhotels.com.

We appreciate your continued patronage of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide and we apologize for this unforeseen change and any inconvenience it may cause for you. We look forward to welcoming you to a Starwood Preferred Guest participating property in the near future.

I wonder if they are leaving SPG because they wanted to or because SPG kicked them out?

Gold. But email said that they wouldn't give any SPG benefits.

Need to look into Atlantis but it is so expensive... Was hoping to split between the Sheraton and Atlantis but now I don't think they will allow me to modify my reservation. I will call to find out when I am ready to make a change.

I'd complain that you're not getting gold benefits

Good idea! I like the way you think. I complained. Lets see what they offer. I am hoping for Platinum status and bonus points.

Any other ideas for compensation for this?
