Bolded part in quote.
Aha.

Basically, if you get into an accident, generally you are arguing that it was 100% the other driver's fault.
If your camera shows a speed stamp that you were speeding at the time, even a little bit, the other party can use that to shift a portion or all of the blame onto you, as you were driving "recklessly"... Which can have a huge impact on the verdict, and affect your future insurance payments.

Not to mention that if you do turn over the whole camera and they see you speeding hours earlier, they might be able to give you a ticket.

If you are worried about not being able to pin down the location, then you should be able to do it pretty easily as you should have the past few hours of driving recorded, so you can match it up with google maps.

Thanks. So is it the GPS chip that records the speed?

It stamps the speed and location on the bottom of the video. You can turn it off it settings, but then why waste money?

And one common complaint. That gets blurry when hot.

I really like the quality and form factor of the A119, especially for the price. it is by far the best image quality in its price range.
No Battery, so it is good for very hot or cold temperatures in the car.
Don't bother with the GPS mount, it is buggy, and will most likely hurt your case rather than help it unless you NEVER speed etc.

Frequently available on sale for about $60.

Anker's new camera seems to be similar, lower resolution with higher image fidelity.
It uses a battery though.

Was actually looking at the Anker one since they have great products and ever better customer service.
Even though it is relatively new, it has really good reviews and the customer service responses on all feedbacks have indicated that they are constantly updating the software based on feedback which is amazing!
I will probably buy it and I'll report back once I use it a bit.

Looking around, the only camera i saw in this price range that beats it image quality is the A119.

This one had a much better build quality, Wifi to send clips to your phone and uses a battery vs a capacitor.

The battery is a plus and a minus, because you should be able to take it off the mount and record the area etc, but isn't as reliable in extreme hot or cold.

The A119 only has a bit better resolution. (And I don't think it's on sale now)

Looked decent enough, but haven't done research on this particular one.

I was told the Blackvue DR650S-2CH IR is very very good.

I am looking for a hi end model and this seems to be (from the price).

Any comments or recommendations from DDF?
