Got Amazon to treat the current $49 Kindle as a $20 price drop and had them refund the difference.

Called CSR to ask if there were any way for me to take advantage of the (expired) $50 offer, and after a bit of shmoozing, she offered me a one time $50 credit! She said it would be less hassle than trying to get marketing to extent the $50 expired offer to me.

The $50 credit - meaning a promotional credit? And if it was, then it's only for Kindle promos, right?

Actually, no. Stam a $50 credit for the intent of applying towards any kindle, but CSR warned me that if I buy anything on Amazon before I buy the kindle, it will be deducted from the $50. I just encountered a very nice CSR who simply wanted to remove my frustration. Didn't even need to HUCA.

ETA: p.s. Let's not forget that the Aibeshter probably had something to do with this to.....

I ordered one paperwhite without Special offers total $69.68 and one Kindle Fire HD 16GB without Special Offers for total $145.89.

Got a chat rep to "request" a refund of $21.77 for the paperwhite and $47.41 for the Fire HD.

Sick deal if it actually goes through, but it hasn't reflected on the invoice or order details pages yet. He said it would take 2-3 business days.

This was on my second attempt.

Just got another $20 back (for the paperwhite this time).
And I'm doing the paperwhite trade-in, getting back $10 more then I paid.

So this promo got me $30 and a free Kindle. Not bad Amazon, not bad.
