So this is the front of the bar, not sure if that's considered a surge protector or not.

I've tried wiring in just the live and testing the ground plug and I'm pretty sure I'm getting electricity in the grounded holes, gonna test it again now to make sure.
ETA. I think this power bar is broken, I just tested it all three holes are apparently live even when the "fuse" is off.
Gonna try getting a new power bar and try this again.

What's weird is that in the US I used it for a year without an issue the only thing I can think is that the outlet I was using wasn't really grounded.

Sorry not following. Across what two terminals are you testing for power?
I just found a new supply of forks!

Tried all three "holes" of a single plug/outlet on the bar, they all show live with my tester.

I know the tester works cause when I try in a regular outlet only the live one shows live.

How were you testing them. Is this just a single lead tester you touch to each terminal/hole?

It may be getting a "live" read from another "hole", is that possible?
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

You might be getting those reading because of some type of surge protection the strip might have. Remember the power strip works with the adapter.

Did you try the power strip in a different outlet. Also do you any appliance that has a three prong plug and try it in the outlet.

What would it cost to re-wire 4 BX cables with newer stuff, in a small house (so, not going that far)

How do I get these 2 wires from an NEC intercom to power up a ring door bell pro? a tranformer?. The ring door bell will replace the NEC intercom.

Part of my basement has 3 light fixtures. They are 2 foot long t12 fluorescent tube bulbs. The older thick ones.
How tricky is it to change them to recessed fixtures? Tia. Maybe I should speak to whacked1's person...

It depends if the end of the cable at the point where it enters the fluorescent fixture can reach where it needs to be to enter the recessed fixture. It could depend on many other things. For example, if the wiring is very old, it can crumble as you work with it. Why do you think it might be tricky?
