retaining united premier executive status
« on: November 21, 2010, 09:55:50 PM »
I am a premier executive on United and my status is due to expire December 2010. I need 9000 EQM to retain the status for next year. Problem is that I don't have any trips planned for this year but I don't want to lose my status. Is there any other way to retain it?

Mileage run.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Continental allows you to purchase triple eqm's on a flight, so take flight of 3000 miles and buy the triple miles and you will have your 9000 EQM's. You will just have to see if CO will credit those EQM's to United.

Another option is to status match to Continental and then you will end up being the same Gold status for 2011 on United.

try calling up United and asking them what program they offer to maybe pay for the status.

-You don't need to actually take the CO flight to buy EQM's from CO.  Either way buying EQM's is very pricey.
-2010 CO EQM's will not credit to UA.

Not true at all.  As a CO Gold flying UA you will be upgraded after all UA 1Ps ("UA Gold")
Besides CO will not match UA status so you would have to match to DL first.

And UA won't match you straight up, they'll most likely offer you a challenge, fly "x" within a certain period.

So basically there is no option besides a mileage run?
Is there a way to get a very cheap flight that will still give me the required EQMs?

If you didn't benefit from the expedia.ca promo, you might be able to get miles from other family members flying.
