Are you asking whether or not you should go or which tour company you should go with?
Both.  Plus advice if we do decide to do that.

We went with an infant and were very happy with the company that we used. Details are in my TR: http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=59860.0

Would you say it is worth renting a car there?

I don't think it's worth it. But then again, we were only there for 2 days and the only actual activity that we did off the hotel grounds was Stingray City.

And what was the taxi situation like there?  Was it expensive to get from the airport to the hotel?

If you want a ride from/to the airport and/or an awesome tour guide, I cannot recommend more than Shirley Roulstone of Cayman Routes Island Tours. Very sweet, personable and knowledgeable. Extemely accomodating. Our kids loved her. They cried when theysaid goodbye. Clean van. Reasonable rates. She knows the island well.

It was a fixed fair from the airport to our hotel ($23.10 USD) and the taxi drivers only take cash (they accept US cash and had change).

I was there 2 years ago. I rented car because it was so cheap, like $9/day. They drive on the other side of the street. Most attractions pick you up from the hotel, but I'm glad I had the car even for just picking up groceries from the store.

I have driven on the wrong side in Provo, T&C, so that's no issue.  Which company has those rates?

Look on Expedia. I found some pretty cheap rates there but didn't end up booking because I was under 25 at the time and underage fees were crazy (and non-waivable).

She really made our trip special. I still used taxis for running to the market or an off-property restaurant. Taxis were cheap. There are also busses/vans that are even cheaper. They have a third-world feel to them though.

The Westin in Grand Cayman now stocks Meal Mart Pre-made Kosher Meals, you must contact the concierge to arrange beforehand.

The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman offers premium Glatt Kosher meals from A Kosher Caterer in Miami, they will deliver to other hotels as well.
