If bought a ticket from AA with one of the segments operated by IB, When claiming miles is that segment AA or IB?

I receive only 995 United miles roundtrip for ewr-to TLV  on economy does that make sense?

On the base fare, maybe a lot of it were YQ and not eligible for miles?

yes you get 5 miles per dollar for every dollar spent on the base fare
