Thanks, forgot about that TR. Seems like people have had very varied experiences with the crew, Lucky also had a terrible experience like Dan's but some others, (Zack Honig and Mattew from Live and Let's fly) had great experiences with the crew.
@Dan can you compare the hard product to LX J?
SAS soft product (including nearly all employees I encountered) is rotten to the core. Aside from bad service I felt anti-Semitic vibes from some as I can't recall feeling from any other airline.

Hard product was nice though.

It's so weird because I've seen a bunch of polarizing reviews, some had a terrible experience like yours, some had a great experience with the crew.

If not for the first word in your first paragraph, I'm sure some could say that about LY (though not necessarily in premium cabins, from what I hear. But that might be confirmation bias).
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Flying LX J as a couple, is there more or less space in window vs middle pairs of 2 seats?

I think more in middle since there are 2 console tables while the side only has one.

Tentatively planning a trip for this winter and looking at SYD-BKK, I could either route through SIN and try to find SQ R space before that becomes even more scarce with the cabin redesign or book TG F direct and take advantage of UA's phenomenal 40k redemption on that route before that gets devalued.
Thoughts?

It really depends on how you personally weigh product vs award cost

It's also the fact that the 40k award redemption is going away, SQ's deval already hit.

That's only relevant if you see yourself being in the position to try out either product again in the near future.

TG probably not, SQ probably at some point.

Then I would do TG, keeping in mind what @exgingi said in the other thread, availability plays a large role

Any reviews of the 787-8 Polaris? From what I understand it's legacy hard product. Does that =nothing special?

Correct. They're not even scheduled to get retrofitted

Any recommendations on how to snag a throne seat on LX out of TLV? ZRH? without the extra fee?

+100. 6 flights and 6 horrible experiences.

Aside from bad service I felt anti-Semitic vibes from some

I didn't feel any of that TBH ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Overall I'd avoid flying them again. I plan on going back to Svalbard and Norway next winter and hope to avoid them altogether. Between Norwegian and Wideroe's expanded routes I believe it's doable.

If they are still around during online check-in, I think you can select.  Phone rep wouldn't budge.  Wondering if it's a case of DROPR...
