If something switch on the way back, so you get the KD Lounge. With US J you'll get the Dan lounge... not even showers..

Meh, I'm like 7 years behind in TRs.

Just wondering if LY F is that much better than US J.

But somehow you got that Shallots one up quickly. Maybe you need another Shallots run.  ;D

I personally don't think it worth the extra cost for LY F or US J. But then again I have flown either.

I would do it just to cross another F product off my bucket list.

LY F would for sure be more unique, with just 8 seats it is quite and cozy and the service from what I've heard is great, though forget from SQ/CX for that time being  ;) Also the seats I think are a bit wider than US J. You might even get lucky to get the entire cabin for your self when the other pax in F will see how you shovel your self in with 2 kids they will just ask the FA for a seat in J... All in all I would go for it.

If this is purely w comfort vs. Cost I can't see how it would be worth it to switch

Ly f is really nothing special. If you have plenty of points and you want to cross if of the bucket list do it, if you look at it, that you could sell these extra points for cash, so the ly is costing you extra 4k don't.

I'm sure your balances won't take too big a hit for LY F. Do it so you can check it out and then move on.

I know this is sacrilegious but I don't have a F bucket list like some of ya'll have.

i have a bucket list of places and I like to get there without being treating like cattle, but I don't feel the need to try out every F product or fly nowhere just to try a product out.

So if it's something that is on another level than US I'd go for it. Otherwise I'm not going to pay double just for the sake of saying I did it.

To each their own. Many here, including me, love flying, love experiencing different planes, and love experiencing different airlines.

It's clear you're not one of those people. And that's OK.

Vacations for us, though, are about more than just the destination. They're also about the journey.

Among other things, being able to experience a nice first class product means to people like me that the vacation starts when you take off and not when you arrive, or, with airlines that offer free chauffeur, even sooner: from the moment you leave your house.

I know I'm not alone in saying that if EY F A380 had a glitch fare for $50 for JFK-AUH-JFK with a same day return, I wouldn't even hesitate clicking "purchase," completely giddy at the prospect.

You view that as "flying to nowhere."

We view that as a "unique and wonderful opportunity to experience more in life."

Of course I like those things.  And planning flights like that and taking flights in F are definitely part of the run.  But same day returns without leaving the airport is definitely where I cross the line ;)

Not that there wasn't a point in my life when I wouldn't do that. But I'm way past that point.

If a product is worth experiencing and was significantly better I'd pay double the miles for it.  But if it's only marginally superior I wouldn't just for the sake of experience. Which is exactly why I asked the question.
