The best is when the B"K starts nudging me right after, as if I didn't get it when he read it at 5x the decibel level of the rest of the words...

Jab  him back. Preferably in an area that will cause his leining to be at 5x the pitch it usually is :)

Probably because you lein the same Maftir for 8 days in a row, so people are familiar with the trop by then. As opposed to Sukkos for example.

Probably because you lein the same Maftir for 8 days in a row, so people are familiar with the trop by then. As opposed to Sukkos for example.
The differences from day to day on sukkos are very slight.

Correct, but as far as I remember, the leining on Sukkos has no azla geresh's.
