There is something that I stumbled upon trying to spend $1500 on my discover card at gas stations for 5% CB and to my surprise it's awesome.
There is a $5 monthly fee, however if you enter the following code you will get a $5 credit 3980458920
basically waiving the first month fee. You can use it for one month as will be explained below and then close the card.
Here goes.
In order to get the $5 credit you can't have a net spend account within the last 180 days.
Step 1. Purchase a paypal reloadable prepaid MasterCard.
Activation fee is 4.95 and you can load $20-$500.
I purchased this at a gas station on my discover for 5% CB.
2. Call up paypal and activate the card you need to give your SSN.
3. Wait until you get your permanent card in the mail.
4. Log on to
www.paypal.com/prepaid make an account use the promo code.
5. You will get a routing number and an account number that you can use to pay bills.
I personally called up AMEX paid a bill and all went fine.
6. Go back to gas stations at least for me and now buy NetSpend Reload.
7. Reload the NetSpend on to your MC and pay your cc that you used to purchase it with or any cc bill.
8. You can load $5k every 30 day rolling period.
