Niagara Falls:

General info:
There are 2 sides to Niagara Falls - the Canadian side and the US side, with several bridges crossing over. The Canadian side has the Chabad and Kosher restaurants as well as almost every activity, therefore almost all DDFers stay in Canada. The 2 main activities are: boat ride to the falls and walking next to the falls. In CA, the boat is called Hornblower and in US, it's called Maid of the Mist. Reviews are great for both and say they are similar experiences. In CA, walking by the falls is called Journey Behind the Falls, and in US, it's called Cave of the Winds. COTW is the clear winner from DDF reviews and is worth crossing over the border for.

Set your phone to network only (no roaming), and it should pick up the signal from the USA. However, in the 4P and Chabad area, Sprint did not work well for @Yehuda, but by Sheraton on the Falls / Clifton Hill and the different activities, it worked fine. May be worth looking into getting a Canadian sim card.

http://www.niagarafallsbridges.com/ lists all 4 bridges with appx wait times. You can also call 1-800-715-6722 to check wait times.

Restaurants:
There is a Dairy (no meat as of June 2015) restaurant in the Chabad Center (which is located in the parking lot of the Four Points By Sheraton Hotel, map) open during the summer season, cash only (they were taking CC's as of June 2015), see the website and/or Facebook page for details. There is no official parking at the Chabad center/restaurant, the chabad website recommends staying at the Four Points by Sheraton Fallsview which is right across the Chabad center, however people park in the parking lot in front of the chabad center for davening/eating. Park at your own risk, as it's officially only for hotel guests.

Nissan's Deli - There is a limited deli (shnitzel, hot dogs, hamburgers, deli salads, etc.) about 20 min drive away, located in the Top's Supermarket at 3980 Maple Road, Amherst, NY. Call ahead, hours aren't posted on website. The supermarket also has a good selection of fresh kosher items (cold cuts, cheeses, cholov yisroel milk was frozen). The bakery in this Tops is kosher (Va'ad Hakashrus of Buffalo), extensive & delicious - dairy & parve items available.

Hotels:
Be careful with hotel names as there are 4 SPG properties that have similar names - Sheraton on the Falls (CA), Sheraton at the Falls (US), Four Points by Sheraton Niagara Falls Fallsview (CA), Four Points by Sheraton Niagara Falls (US). Come on Starwood...

Sheraton On The Falls nice hotel, right next to to the local attractions, Hornblower, Journey Behind the falls(10 min walk) Niagara SkyWheel etc. You can get a Deluxe Fallsview room for 11k Starpoints. The only suites they have are corner suites, so if you book/upgrade to a suite you'll get a corner suite which is very nice and spacious.

Near each other and Chabad
Four Points by Sheraton Fallsview - 3K SPG, within Eruv to Chabad across the street, meals are in this hotel
Embassy Suites - 70K HH
Hilton - 70K HH (see here for info on a contact for upgrades)

Near Clifton Hill
Sheraton on the Falls - 10K SPG

Can often find package deals or cheaper rates (not during holiday season) on Groupon or by Googling hotel name and "packages" or "deals" as they each have a packages section of their website.

[Wiki in progress, need to reconcile these activities to those listed above]
CANADA
Hornblower Niagara Cruises (canada) - $20, 5 min walk from SOTF
Journey Behind the Falls (canada) - (bleh compared to cave of the winds)
White Water Walk to the Whirlpool Rapids - $10, take bus to it or park for free.
Whirlpool Aero Car - $11, take bus or park for free.
Falls Incline Railway - just for a view, can get view from hotel room
Clifton Hill
Bird Kingdom - $15, 7 min walk from SOTF
Botanical Gardens - free, $5 parking, bus
- Floral Clock - something to see
- Butterfly Conservatory - $15
Skylon Tower - $13, 15 min walk from SOTF

USA
Goat Island
- Cave of the Winds (usa) - $17 much better than journey behind the falls, 30 min walk from SOTF
- Trolley - $3
- Terrapin Point - view
Fireworks - can be seen from hotel room
Rainbow Bridge for pics/views of both falls - need passport, 50 cent cash toll
Whirlpool State Park - hiking down to see the rapids, will do White Water Walk instead

Activities packages - Canada, USA - I found that they didn't have enough of the activities I wanted to do on the same pass (particularly because I wanted to combine CA and US activities). Chabad also has a discounted package called J-Pass as well as discounts to individual activities but they aren't so organized and it's hard to find someone to help you with tickets.

Activities on the Way from NY:
Krispy Kreme in Scranton - on Moosic Street, under KOA with supervision from local Scranton Rav - R' Fine, recommended by Rabbi Eidlitz from KosherQuest.com via email to @Yehuda
Corning Museum of Glass ($20) - large museum of varying glass displays and creations, glass blowing demonstrations, has high reviews although @Yehuda didn't think it was that amazing
Watkins Glen State Park (free, $8 parking) - hike in a gorge along several waterfalls, more of an upward step climb than a hike which is quite strenuous, @Yehuda recommends going 20 minutes in to see the first few falls then turning back, if you go the whole 1-1.5 hours you can wait for a shuttle school bus to take you back to the parking lot for $5 cash
Letchworth State Park - hot air balloons
Finger Lakes - can go on a boat cruise or just find a nice place to pull over for a good lunch spot, @Yehuda took Hwy 14, which runs alongside Seneca Lake and found a grassy area with benches.
Strong Museum of Play in Rochester ($15) - not exactly on the most direct route, but a fantastic, huge museum of toys and games (many of which you can play) for all ages
Howe Caverns ($25) - boat ride in a cave, but close to Albany, so not on a great route to Niagara

That would be because I just merged all of those threads into this new one giant master thread.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

update to our trip

We decided not to stay at the 4points in Niagara (Canada).  Logistics, timing and the fact that Sheraton on the Falls was available for $107 all played into our decision.  They upgraded our rooms to premium fallsview rooms on the 17th floor. These were NOT the corner suites but they were very nice rooms and both falls were visible including the fireworks.  The view of the American Falls was perfect, Canadian Horseshow fools were obviously more distant and also you needed to stand right at the window to see them.

Room, beds and overall hotel was very comfortable.  Soda machines take coins only so i was a bit thirsty at night!  There is a kosher hot dog ($4.75) and falafel($9.00) stand around the corner at the entrance of the Maid of the Mist which we did not try (also had french fries i don't remember the price - prob around $5), i believe the hashgocha is from a Rav in Buffalo.

We got into to Niagara around 9:20 sunday night.  Checked in and settled by 10PM in time to watch the fireworks from our rooms.  Ate some sandwiches and then went outside to take a stroll along the canadian side.

Location was perfect for us as, the rainbow bridge is right across the street.  In the morning we walked across the bridge for 50 cents (need your passports for anyone over 16, kids can use birth certificates).  The view from the bridge are stunning and also different from the usual walk along the Canadian side.  You can get fantastic photos with both falls and the Maid of the Mist boats all without even trying!

We took the trolley in Goat Island ($2 for 13 and up; $1 for 6-12, good for all day) to Cave of the Winds, and also to the views overlooking the bridal falls and American falls.) Kids loved it - i still think this is the best way to take in the falls.

Walked backed to Canada (no charge!) and ate lunch in room overlooking the falls.  Kids went to Maid of the Mist while i packed the car.  Left car with valeta and took everyone to a couple of things in Clifton Hill, ended the trip with a ride on the Skywheel for everyone except two of us who were too scared of heights!

Then it was on to Toronto.  We stayed in the Sheraton Parkway Toronto North using cash and points.  They upgraded a couple of our rooms to kings suites, which were nice.  Overall the hotel was very comfortable and i would definitely stay there again.  We ate supper in Miami Grill - all 13 of us enjoyed the tasty food and the superb service.  We did not do anything else in Toronto as we had the Bris in the morning and then we had to drive all the way back to NYC.

Feels like we were away for a week, can't believe it was only two days!

Just spent a couple of days in Niagara and had a great time. Got great advice from a park ranger-instead of spending the $10 on parking at the falls, park by the gorge discovery center for free and take the shuttle (which you will probably by tickets for anyway although not really necessary) to the falls area.
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

1stly can U PLEASE do me a tremendous favor and join Flyertalk

as for hotels the best SOTF (Shearton on the Falls isnt availble for pts) that leaves eitehr the 4 Points Cat 3 7k in pts no C&P, or The Shearton Fallsview Cat4 10k also no C&P available) (now I put in for all 3 days could be it might eb avaialble for 1 or 2 of thsoe days but I figured you wouldnt want to be playing Switch the Hotels witha 3yr old in tow so I didnt check on a per night basis)

with the 4P costing $167 US all in I would go for a pts stay, you should also check some of the PriceLine bidding info sites to see what if any PL bids are running

never used my SPG pts for a car doubt I ever would either

Call up SPG and the hotel directly for cash and points availability.
SPG.com simply isn't accurate.
