What is the absolute best thing you can do, in terms of dollar value per point, that you can do with Amex MR Points?

I don't care if its flights, merchandise, cash, etc. What's the best value?

This is really a tough question to answer as it depends on your needs and desires.

For me the best value is transferring them to British Airways during a bonus period. In the past bonuses have been anywhere between 20% - 50%. British airways miles are an incredible value for last minute short haul flights.

The second best value IMO is transferring them to ANA for use on United business to Europe or Israel.

hardly ever available unless you book at least 6 months in advance. I would NOT use that choice from personal experience!)

I just opted out of MR on my corporate card (the points I got weren't enough to justify the $90 fee) and have 30 days to transfer them. I saw this thread: http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=3722.0 but the OP had a specific destination in mind. I'm planning a Europe trip within the near future but it's still very much in the early planning stages so I'm not sure which is the best place to redeem them. I noticed in another thread that Avios is a good idea but isn't it generally better to use that for short haul flights? I was also thinking about transferring them to SPG but after a quick google search, I nixed that idea. Any suggestions are welcome! TIA

Dude! What's the deal with being charged a FEE to transfer MR to SkyMiles?! Any way to avoid that or get back the fee? Why do they have that fee for Delta and not for BA?

(And please nobody harass me that I used SkyMiles. As @Mochada can attest, I need SkyMiles for the itinerary I am flying.)

It's charged when transferring to any US airline. Max is $99.

Are there set "bonus periods" for transferring to BA? Or just random?
