Hiking, boating, walking around the small towns etc
Don't make fun of me. But I am like totally fine without walking around the small towns, I am perfectly fine seeing them on google maps.

So why are you going to Austria?
Austria is mainly nature today up this hill tomorrow the next mountain and so on.
What does interest you? maybe we could help you accordingly

I am going to relax and sit on my balcony seeing hashems wonders. Though, this is not what I want to do all day.

If going to Salzburg, I would recommend Sheraton hoif bei Salzburg. Cheap SPG, very nice property, beautiful surroundings and very peaceful. 20 min drive to Salzburg. Good for a night or 2.

Here are some pictures from my recent trip to Austria

On the way between Zell Am See and Kaprun

Sigmund-Thun-Gorge www.klammkaprun.at Is a nice and quick attraction, you walk (up) on steps for 15-20 minutes through a canyon. The entire way is really nice and relaxing.

By the end of the trail is this waterfall

View from Victoria hotel

A house made out of wood chunks near the hotel

Alpine Coaster Maisifiltzer www.maiskogel.at is one of the longest mountain coasters in Austria

The following pictures are from Kitzsteinhorn – the highest mountain of Salzburg
Kitzsteinhorn www.kitzsteinhorn.at is really amazing; it takes 3 cable cars to reach the top. Make sure to be there before 10:00 am, as the line to the last (highest) cable car gets really crowded after 10:00 am. Some people who arrived at 10:30 had to wait more than two hours (!)
There are activities to do by every station like by all major mountains. I prefer to go straight to the top first and then do the activities on the way down.
On top you’ve got a outdoor Gipfelwelt (balcony) with beautiful panoramic scenes, it is freezing up there. From here you can also take a mountain train to a designated area for snow tubing.

On the way up

The line starts forming at the third station to go to the top

A small fraction of the view on top

View seen from the restaurant on top. Note the snow tubing area

This photo was taken while resting behind the snow tubing area

At the third station - before going down to the second station

Getting lower

And lower

At the second station (one before the bottom) you can take some breathtaking hikes

The following are typical scenes on the way to Innsbruck

Awesome pictures. What's the difference in temperature from the top of the mountain to the bottom ?
Any details on the flights , hotels, shabbos ?
Unless you're saving that for a separate TR ...

In the summer? not really. Rather go to southern Switzerland ie. Saas Fee or Montana. The main reason people go to Austria vs. Switzerland is because economically Austria is much cheaper  in every aspect from gasoline to hotels and everything in between.

However, after visiting both i can confirm that you get what you pay for. Switzerland has much better attractions and is more tourist friendly.

For personal reasons i will not write up a full detailed TR. But i can help you with your questions.

I assume that in the city it was about 65F and on top of Kitzsteinhorn it was about 35F

Very nice pictures!

How was the hotel in Kaprun? How would you compare it the other the kosher hotels in Europe? In terms of food, accomodations etc.

Hotel wise - top of the line! Food wise - plenty of good food. However,  the cook was an Israeli so it was not exactly my taste but food is food and I did not stay hungry...

I was referring vs. Other mountains. On Kitzsteinhorn you have got a small petting zoo, restaurants,  gift shops, snow tubing, 3D movie, kids play area, little lake and waterfalls, designated hikes and more.

When are you coming out with your TR?

Waiting for a petition with at least 1000 signatures to see a demand.
