I know you've already been to Hong Kong.  Did you have a reason you wanted to stopover again?  For Shabbat?
We're not stopping in HKG in the end.

When is this for? How hard was it to find those 5 J seats?

Chanukah 12/11
Only day that I found 5 J on the entire calendar except for a week to 10 days out. There were 5 available when i started watching it and then it went down to 4. I figured I should book now when the 5th one opened up. Its AA94 which is a 767 with Lie-flat seats. I could have booked all the way through for 70k AA which would have been cheaper on the J and a bit more on the Y but the balances of my accounts made more sense this way (including maximizing 2x10k Aviator bonus). Net it cost me 10,500 more BA over the AA.

BCN seems to have good availability on AA metal as well with more than 2 seats in J.

On hold:
CDG-AUH (EY F)
DWC-DOH (QR regional J)
DOH-CAN (QR F)
Two nights in AUH/DWC, 16 hrs in DOH
112.5K AA

I also put CAN-BKK (UL J) on hold, it wouldn't price the entire DWC-BKK as one award which is annoying so I'll probably end up booking it for 15k BA

Good you did your research well on QR F, did not realize that QR A380 does DOH CAN.

What about DWC DOH CAN KUL BKK? would that not price as one?.

Yep, they're starting service on July 1st, I'm (hopefully) flying July 5th
I don't think I could have put that together without your help, thanks a ton!

Anything to do in CAN?
I haven't looked, as of now I'd only have 3 hrs there.

I'm not sure, regardless, it doesn't look like there's availability that works timing wise. Also, I don't think it's worth flying an extra segment on a very inferior product just to save 15k BA + ~ $60

Besides checking google flights, check   cheapoair,  AirAsia, I found great deals on Cheapoair cheaper then google flights, Have in mind you can fly to HKT too.

Why would I want to do that if I can book UL straight from CAN-BKK in lie flat J for 15k BA?

2 pax

LAX-SEA-CDG - (Delta 737-8 First)/(Delta A330 Business): 140k +$11 (paid with 55k Delta miles and the rest Amex MR)

DUB-YYZ-LAX  (Aer Lingus A330 Business)/(AC 787-9 Business): 140K + $76 (paid with 27k UA miles and the rest Chase UR)

Will figure out how/where we want to go between our time in Paris and leaving from Dublin. Only downside is a 16hr layover in Toronto, but have friends/family there so will be a nice short visit.

Sorry, just meant I already had some airline miles, and then I gathered the rest that I needed by transferring from my CC.

Just did the math by looking up these flights as revenue tickets (not sure if that is fair), but it came out to $3,804 for the United flights and $8,612 for Delta. So for two people at 280k miles, that comes out to 8.86 cents/mile.

That seems like a good rate but not sure; I'm sure there are others here that are masters at getting a better rate. I'm happy with it though.
