Priceline Hotel Cancelation Help!!!
« on: August 22, 2014, 12:23:36 AM »
Just bid a hotel and won a 3 star hotel, and to my dismay is a hotel which I stayed in a few months ago and is horrible. There was mold and bugs etc I am traveling with an infant and no way am I going to stay there. I called price line  'till I was blue in the face and they won't budge. (I asked them to change to any hotel or cancel) THey are telling me to stay there and if any problems to call them (Yeah right) any suggestions??
(I purchased with amex, can't dispute until goes off pending, in the meantime if i stay somewhere else and loose the dispute get charged twice)

best way to cancel a priceline name your own price bid is to call the hotel directly, convince them in a polite way to let you cancel.
they will say that on their end is good but you need priceline to do it. get that workers name. call up priceline and tell them hotel says you can cancel and that they should call and speak to so and so.
works everytime i tried

Priceline once allowed me to cancel when I said I put in the wrong date. Think they charged me like a $20 fee. I was also able to cancel a car once for free when I was moved from a flight to FLL to a flight to MIA. Not sure how that would translate into a hotel though.

+1. Think that's the way to go. Get them to cancel, they will hold credit for new reservation minus $20. I had same experience.
