There are different licenses I believe, and easy to get.

Did you follow the instructions?

i had AVG free on computer of mine and constantly got virus's (even after nuking the system a couple of times)
So on my main PC i decided to get norton 360 (ten bucks after rebate - last years black friday). Then it expired last week so i installed AVG cuz i couldn't find 360 for cheap. 2 days later i got a virus and had to nuke my computer. Coincidence? Possibly. Does AVG takeh stink? i think so.
I now have norton.

I'm assuming he doesn't mean the FREE Avg.

I used to do this for a living, so I pretty much what I'm talking about.

Maybe he didn't update avg, I'm not sure.

The paid avg and norton 360 cover a wider scope of things than the free one.

The only one surpassing the regular good anti viruses is kaspersky, which is a royal pita if you don't know how to configure it.

For regular mortals avg (the one mentioned above) should be more than enough.

If not configured properly you will get popups and warning for every little thing.

AVG is very respected nowadays, so not sure why or how.

But please mods, remove the download link.

Those who didn't bother downloading it until today, too bad.

Did anyone here do the frys.com offer for the Norton 360 that I posted last week? Did you perhaps save the 2 rebate forms? After I purchased it, I forgot to download the 2 forms, and now im not sure where to find it. Thanks

I finally found it on google after I entered the date of Dec 9.

UPDATE- I just found the rebates when I logged in to check my shipping information. I was lucky that I did so, since the google rebate link was for the "premier edition", while the one I purchased was not!

subscribe to the langa newsletter at langa.com he has a free version and a "pay what you think it's worth" version. I pay $15 a year for the paid one. It's well worth it. It's put together by experts in the field and gives advice on free software, virus protection, updates worth having, etc. They rated a number of anti virus programs and their conclusion was the best ones were free. (Avast and AVG). Microsoft's free security essentials was also highly rated as was the free superantispyware remover.
Macafee is terrible. Their programmers have gone to sleep and they rely on third parties. They often give false positives and when I called about an obvious one they told me it takes a year to update their database. Lately Norton has been giving too many false positives and I have been recommending to my clients to get rid of it.

ive never received false positives with the norton 2010, and its one of the highest rated anti viruses available. which version were you using?
