I just got my new annual fee for platinum card. Should I rather cancel the card or downgrade it to a nine fee card . Witch one is better in order to keep my credit good and relationship with Amex as well ??

officially you cant downgrade the plat to a fee free card. at best you can downgrade to the zinc which is $25/year

so do you suggest I should go for the zinc card or cancel completely . What's the pros and the cons ? Any advise ?

Not good for your credit to cancel completely, not sure if it's worth $25/yr

Good luck with that. From what I've read here, the AMEX matching days are a thing of the past.

Is it a problem to close even though it's a charge card not a credit card (a charge card dose not report any credit limit on your credit )

Hey guys ! Tell me your views.
I want to cancel my platinum card tommrrow . And wait like 30 days to make a 3BM reapply for the regular plat card and the MB plat card and then a offer I got in the mail for business gold card 50k points as well . The only issue is that the gold offer is expiring on 4/10/12. That means I will not be able to do a 3BM cuz I first want to wait the 30 days after canceling my last card.

Why not just do a 3BM with the gold, MB plat, and MS plat? Also, you might be able make the 50k by retention

getting that much from retention is rare but not entirely unheard of.
he recommended the ms plat over the reg to save you from having to cancel and wait to apply again

Is the reapplying in the same 30 days an Amex issue. Cuz Amex won't approve me for any card since I just canceled. Or it has to do with the card type that I can't reapply for a card u just canceled ? In this case I can apply for any card from Amex since I am not applying for the same card ?

How long does it take for the 50K miles to post after reaching the $3K threshold? I would like to cancel my card before the 60 day grace period so I can get back my annual fee, but I want to get the 50K points first, or will they take them back when I cancel? (I have other MR cards)

It ussaly gets postted after you pay off the $3000 but some users have reported getting it after meeting the spending requirmant its YMMV
