If you pay flight with points for rebate and cancel within 24 hours, do you get the full points back? Or only a refund without the rebate?

does a charge by a local travel agency get 5x points on the platinum or needs to be by the airline direct?

It's not always different, travel agent charges show up as airline charges a lot of times, ask your TA. but yes, needs to show up as an airline charge for 5x.

With the TA I use, charges always come from the airline direct.

Not sure if this was mentioned upthread or not, but I got the following email from Amex today:

We're not increasing your annual fee at this time

We are pleased to let you know we have decided not to increase your annual fee at this time.

We previously sent you a letter stating that your Annual Membership Fee would increase to $550.00 on 2017-11-15. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

You don't need to take any action. The Annual Membership Fee on your account will remain $450.00.

Thank you for your Card Membership.

Sincerely,

American Express Customer Care

Until when is this effective? On DDMS it said from 9/1 it would be $550. I guess they changed that since. Anyone know the new switchover date?

Hmm. Maybe since he's a TA, and I assume (hope) he charges his card a lot, so they don't want to lose him?

Lol. Actually, this email was for my wife. (also looks very obviously like a TAs card - cuz I switch off between our cards) Lemme see how much I get charged in a month...

anyone ever have an issue that they selected their designated airline and then booked tickets on the same day? I am being told that I am not entitled to the rebate since my airline selection is only showing up as being selected the next day even though I selected prior to booking the tickets?
