yep. buy stamps and the such all the time. just figured i could pay the cc bill with the money order i just bought. simple and sweet i thought.

also, how is it as mentioned that i can get 4 years of lounge access if the amex is only good for 1 year. especially if i cancel quickly.

by the way, hope you are enjoyin your trip. i am very envious.

Quick question. If I bought a money order at the post office, would that work to fullfill the spending requirement for the 50000 points? the charge only shows USPS so i don't think they would know its for a money order. thanks
which post office do you use because all the ones i have been have big signs saying that you can not use a cc to pay for money orders.

Interesting, they're not supposed to let you pay by cc.
The AMEX Plat card expires in 4 years from when you get it.

live and learn. credit cards are allowed but for all services but money orders. they allow debit and atm cards for money orders. my mistake.

can use some explanation. if the yearly fee is 450 for the card, how is the card valid for 4 years? i assume you will get a new card every year as you pay the premium, so wouldnt it just show it valid for 1 year. i am just not getting this as i have always had cards and they just show it as valid for the one year. thanks

Pull any card out of your wallet and look at it. They never expire after a year.

This will be my first American Express card. Does anyone know if I get a card and get 2 (or 3) additional cards are the points independent for each card or do they all get shared? Also can I request seperate billing addresses for each of the cards or do they all come together?

For the $175 fee for the additional cards, is anyone familiar if they prorate the fee when you cancel and aprox what it comes out to if you cancel in the first month?

neither. it goes to the main cardholder, and the main cardholder gets the bill for all usage

AFAIK yes, they do prorate the fee. there's a law that if u cancel a card within 30 days of the fee showing up, they need to give it back. in this case the fee will show up probably on the first statement, so I cancel within the first month u should get it all back.
